A variety of academic and non-academic classes are offered to New Horizon and non-New Horizon students after regular school hours. Classes are taught by paid contracted professionals and a reasonable charge is established based upon instructor compensation and material. Classes must have a minimum number of registered students to be offered so please inquire about specific classes at the office by calling 949-552-5411. The following enrichment classes will be offered in Spring 2013:
- Academic Chess (K – 6th grade)

Students will be provided with a workbook full of curriculum designed to meet their skill level. They will be taught how to think deeply, evaluate positions, strategize and plan, visualize results, compete well, develop patience, and gain confidence. This is a great opportunity to involve students in a fun and intellectually stimulating game.
- Webby Dance (PS – K)
“WEBBY Dance Company is now offering exciting and educational classes weekly. Each class is 45 minutes in length and includes age-appropriate instruction in tap dance, pre-ballet, creative movement and tumbling. Dance class begins with stretching and warm-up exercises. Children are then taught creative movement and dance techniques across the floor.” – WEBBY website
- Bricks 4 Kidz (Kindergarten – 6th grade)
TRANSPORTATION SERIES (AGES 5 +) There is lots of building fun ahead with motorized models of a car, helicopter, airplane and sailboat. Your child can follow our step-by-step model plans to create their vehicle, then customize it to their own specifications and take their mini-figure for a ride! Each class, students will build motorized models such as a dragster, a sailboat, a helicopter and more and explore the history of transportation from horse and buggy to air travel. But the best part is, these models are so much fun to play with!
- Basic Taekwondo (Kindergarten – 6th grade)
Versatile Taekwondo & Martial Arts training that fosters well-rounded martial artists. “Family Focused” environment centered on respect, commitment, and hard work. Comprehensive youth curriculum that: encourages manners and discipline, cultivates self-confidence to keep bullying at bay, incorporates community service, and promotes teamwork and leadership.
- Young Rembrandts– Cartoon Drawing Classes (1st—6th grade)
To further children’s attraction to drawing and the love of art, Young Rembrandts improves core skills through the fun of cartooning. Young Rembrandts’ cartoon classes are based on our original, top quality curriculum and follow our same step-by-step method with the additional fun and excitement of cartooning. The original Young Rembrandts cartoons lessons teach children how to create original cartoon characters, draw action, movement and sounds, draw expressions to convey moods, and develop a series of drawings that tell a joke
While cartooning is fun and engaging, your child will gain mastery in a unique drawing style, and improve their core learning skills.
