Please note that your gifts to an Islamic school can fulfill your zakat obligations as stated in Dr. Maher Hathout’s article titled “Zakat, Perpetual Charity and Establishing Islamic Schools in America.” We also encourage you to consult with your attorney, accountant or tax advisor for information as to how these ways of giving affect your specific situation.

These donations are made through a single payment or a pledge over several months or years. We also have a check-o-matic program where pledges can be deducted automatically from your checking account on a monthly basis. Matching Corporate Gifts
Many employers match their employees’ charitable donations. Matching corporate gifts maximize your gift to New Horizon Irvine, providing an additional source of income. Please check with your employer’s Human Resources Department to see if such a program is available.
Restricted Gifts
New Horizon Irvine occasionally receives gifts that reflect a specific interest of a donor and are restricted to a specific purpose. The School welcomes these gifts as long as they can further the School’s educational mission. The most common restricted monetary gifts go towards funding such interests as a special project, a specific curriculum area, or tuition sponsorship.
Endowment
Private schools assure long-term financial stability through endowments. An endowment is the financial cornerstone that ensures a school’s continued ability to provide an excellent educational experience to all students.
Bequests and Planned Gifts
Planned Giving is a gift vehicle that allows you to donate via a trust, an annuity, or, most commonly, a bequest. Including New Horizon in your will can establish a permanent family legacy and provide tax benefits, a life income benefit, or other favorable estate arrangements.
